So in the project I’m currently working we’ve started using YUI (Yahoo! User Interface Library) and I’ve stumbled across Souders’ (of Yahoo!) work. We ended up getting three copies of his book at my company and I just finished reading my copy.

This book is a must read for any frontend web developer whom is working on a high-traffic site especially! It’s a really quick read, but serves as a great checklist to make sure you’re doing the right things when it comes to serving up your pages.

The Y!Slow Firefox/Firebug plugin is great, it’s basically a test at how well you implement the ideas/concepts presented in the book.

The book is good, but the info inside is all on Steve Souders blog and yahoo’s site. Not too much detail on how to actually implement changes server side to obtain better yslow ratings and performance.

Just read his blog.
