Guidelines for Contributors
Compensation
Standard Benefits
If you've ever written for an Internet-based publication, you probably know what a struggle it is for content-oriented Web sites to become self-supporting. Unfortunately, we are currently not receiving any cash support from the Web community; we are just doing this as a service to the Web industry.
Therefore, we depend on volunteers who give us permission to publish their work free of charge. The main benefit we can offer in return is exposure in the form of a byline, profile including links to contributors' home pages or other works, and regular promotion of contributors' articles through our newsletters and through the site itself.
Added Benefits
There are also several forms of compensation and benefits for contributors that can not be guaranteed. These are including but not limited to the following:
- Free conference press passes
- Free conference passes
- Panelist chair at conferences
- Keynote chair at conferences
- Discounted software and hardware
- Free software for product reviewers
- Free books for book reviewers
- Paid-for Peer book reviews
- Judge chair at award shows
- Book deals
- Free Hosting
- Job and contract referrals
- Job reference from the editor or publisher
- Paid republications of works in print
- Press referrals
These are some, and certainly not all, of the small benefits you could potentially get as a contributor to Digital Web Magazine.
