IBF 24 - 24 hours of intranet innovation from your desk
For 24 hours in June, hundreds of the world’s largest organisations will share, collaborate and learn in a unique global online gathering. Competitors, partners, customers and suppliers will spend 24 hours together from 11am GMT on 18th June at IBF 24: the world’s first major corporate event on the web.
The Intranet Benchmarking Forum , an exclusive, confidential intranet and portal benchmarking group of leading UK, US and global organisations, is hosting this unique global first with IBF 24, a 24 hour online event focussed exclusively on intranet innovation.
At 11am GMT on June 18th 2008, the IBF will open this pioneering online global intranet gathering. IBF 24 will take delegates from the world’s leading blue-chip corporates live to some of the world’s most advanced intranets, corporate portals and information workplaces – behind the firewall.
IBF 24 will operate wholly on the latest online meeting technology delivered using Microsoft’s latest 2008 Unified Communication Services and is only possible because it is being delivered by an organisation such as the IBF.
Paul Miller, IBF Chairman and CEO, said: “We already have in excess of 300 delegates attending IBF 24 from around the globe from organisations such as BP, HSBC, Sara Lee, Microsoft, BHP, Deloitte and Reuters. Given that this is such a unique event, we’re not certain how many delegates we’ll end up with but we fully expect over 1000 to attend and we’re already seeing that major organisations are very keen to not miss this pioneering chance to learn, see, interact and develop.
“In fact,” continued Miller, “using IBF 24 as a focal point, many organisations are choosing to host global Intranet Days combining it with local in-person sessions and using IBF 24 as a day of ‘reflection’ to discuss their intranet. Obviously, we don’t expect delegates to join IBF 24 for the whole 24 hours but to participate in sessions of especial interest to them. Joining and leaving as they wish.”
Without leaving the comfort of their desk, office, home, hotel, café or wherever they are on the day, delegates will have the opportunity to see 12 live intranet tours from the world’s most advanced intranets, experience the latest online meeting technologies in action and see and hear intranet issues and challenges addressed live by internationally acclaimed intranet experts and key note speakers.
Additionally, delegates will be able to join live Q & A sessions throughout the 24 hours and, following each specific session, participate in 12 hourly global online breakout sessions with their peers. Whilst they are interacting with other delegates in person or online, IBF 24 will still be broadcasting live and any material missed can be viewed later through the IBF 24 archive.
