A new issue of A List Apart is hot off the press. This week's article is "Indie Exposure" by Julia Hayden who encourages us to share the wealth... it's all about independent content production.

What's New postings have been few and far between. There are several reasons for that. One is that we are working hard on getting the next issue of Digital Web Magazine out. The other is that we have a taken a new job with a bright and young company. The other reason is that, well... I guess I will be an uncle in about 9 months... so I am spending what little time I have with the family. More posts coming soon.
K10K and A List Apart were both hacked last night. You won't read about it at CNET, 'cause it didn't happen to Yahoo. ALA is back online (new issue: Validating XML). K10K is still recovery.

A new theory column is up over at Design is Kinky. This issue is entitled "Inspiration or rip-off? Where is the fine line?" which includes some comments from yours truely.
Every once in a while when you are sifting through the dirt and rock, you find a gem. Today I found a gem worth sharing. I found philosophe.com, a thoughtful approach to web site quality. It details everything you thought you knew about web site quality and several things that you may have misunderstood. This gem is worth more than most any old diamond on the web.
A List Apart is now back online. Yes, it's really just alistapart. God willing, alistapart.com will soon be released from the bondage of DNS ineptitude.
we just published the 4th issue in 4 weeks of Wise-Women today. We're strong on content..maybe short on design (design by committee and all that...)still, I like the new cover illustration from Suzi....for a self-confessed graphics beginner, it's pretty good.
BTW, if anyone's thinking of using em for font-sizes in CSS, forget it. unless you want Nick going nuts. :P (though the problem really is invalid CGI-generated HTML + Netscape...mumble mumble.)
Does working weekends and into the wee hours of the weekday nights sound familiar? Does your company own more than one beanbag chair? Do you wear flip-flops to work or walk around bare-footed there? Do these things ring a bell? I am guessing 90% of you just said yes... so I have to ask the obvious question; will dot-coms ever grow up? I hope the answer is yes, but at this point it's only a guess. Maybe all those years I spent as a animator and film/video director will pay off in the long run after all.

I am always the last to know... well, sometimes. A new issue of the half project is live for your viewing pleasure. Take special note to the De-Phase section, you may recognize one of the designers. This is just one of the many projects I have been contributing to over the past few weeks. Expect to see more of my stuff on Design is Kinky and Creative Republic, not to mention all the work I have been doing on a new project called c2x2 which will launch soon.
Today, Zeldman redesigns several areas on his site and shares with us a look into the past. Sometimes a reflection is better than the real thing.
