Is Google Cloning a Yahoo?

Is it just me, or is Google trying to clone a Yahoo!? Today it was announced that Google bought Keyhole. Keyhole is a Mountain View, California company of 29 employees that creates digital maps. This sounds a lot like what Yahoo! is doing with Yahoo! Maps. And lets not forget Google's market cap. It will be interesting to see where Google ends up after all of these purchasing sprees.

Well, I believe it could be the other way around in terms of design. Yahoo! Search looks nearly identical to Google's minimalist design. Its a bit sick, and kind of annoying because Yahoo!, if I'm not mistaken used to use Google's search engine technology. They switch to their own, and make it look like Google? Thats not very cool.

I hope Google clons Yahoo! because google only said we will offer gmail last april fool and look what happened on the web, yahoo going 100mb hotmail will be offering 250mb and other sites upgrading to provide more space. Its like yahoo and microsoft were previously there and they had infact no competition at all because what yahoo offers is something like not all the same as microsoft, but now they have a serious competitor google which offers customers the benefits they would dream of, and in a sense its good to have google showing up into a portal because some how i feel google changes the whole concept of quality web surfing on the web.
